zonitics.com

A blog from a fellow Zonies (Arizonan to all you people).

zonitics.com

Dont always agree with the person, but has a lot of good points.

Heh, just had a good laugh reading one of the Scaper's reviewing the last episode of Enterprise over at Farscape: Kansas. All I could think of after reading it was "Attack of the Underoos People, er I mean Enterprise".

Anyway, the rest of my day went pretty well. I got a B on my first AE101 exam (good considering I didn't really study for it) and we got our latest design assignment in on time (barely!). I feel a little bad about not including one of our members name which in effect gives her a zero for the assignment, but she did not help out or show up to our last two meetings. The rest of my group did pretty well on the exam. We all got Bs except one who wouldn't tell us what she got. We also took a short trip over to check out the wind tunnels, which are pretty cool. They're just low speed wind tunnels, but still interesting.

Fluids went pretty well. All we did was work on problems from the book, but they should prove helpful in finishing the homework assignment is. I still really need to get my ass in gear and write the MATLAB program that is due Friday.

It looks like I'm going to have a sub for the next two MA441 classes. Have no idea how good this prof is, or even who he is. Doesn't matter, I guess. More important is whether my Dynamics prof is feeling better so we have class tomorrow.

Well looks like Anth, Wayne, and the gang are having to change their band name. Too bad. I kind of like Number 96 and their later name Giant Killers.

OK, while I support an individual's choice to end their life when their quality of life is unbearable due to sickness, disease, or other physical ailment but the band, Hell on Earth, has gone too far with their attempt to make money off of another persons death.

Band Vows to Defy Assisted Suicide Law [iWon News]

I'm sorry, but if this is true and the suicide goes off as stated in the article, the band deserves to be charged with Florida's manslaughter law on assisted suicide. Commercializing death is a perversion.

Well today was a bit of waste. My Dynamics and MA441 class were cancelled due to instructor illness. Sure, there was a quiz for MA441 before we were released but still it was a bit of a waste of time. The only class not cancelled was Physics due to an exam.

A couple of good things came about today, though. My AE101 group met to work on our on-going design project. The meeting went well and the planforms for the horizontal and vertical stabilizers. The other good news was the announcement that the loan money would be given out friday.

Also heard a good joke today. You really have to be at ERAU to get it. A girl who used to be a part of my AE101 group changed her major to "Jesus". This is an inside joke at the school for those majoring in GSIS: Global Security and International Studies (or something like that).

OK. Seeing it in print it doesn't seem so amusing. I guess you just had to be there.

Sunday, September 28, 2003

Well today has been a lazy Sunday, sort of. I've been prepping for tomorrow's Physics test and MA441 quiz. I've even gotten a head a bit on my Fluids homework. Not bad.

The only thing is I still wish I had time to write my fanfic more. All these ideas are bouncing around in my head and it's annoying that I don't have time to write them up.

Interesting green idea: a CA battery reseller who collects old batteries to be broken down and remade into new batteries. Very eco conscious of them. See, you can make money and help the enviornment.

Somehow can't really believe this

I still find it hard to believe the accusations the a Muslim chaplin is somehow a terrorist sympathizer and committed various acts of sabotage, treason, whatever. Part of my skepticism is due in part to the chaplin's past service in the military and being a graduate of West Point and the fact that I find it difficult to believe that a chaplin could have access to any material that was truly sensitive and classified.

My greatest skepticism comes because of reports of anti-Islamic activities being carried out (with or without approval) by the government and military against ordinary Americans who refuse to hide that they are Muslims or see nothing wrong with Muslims practicing their religion openly.

There are too many suspicious activities going unreported in the mainstream media targeting people associated in some way with the on going War on Terrorism:

US Military linguists (not intelligence officers or special ops personnel) being killed while on duty, but the military is unable or unwilling to say how these people died.

Arab and Persians serving in the US Military being accused of a number of violations, such as being accused (without evidence) of being homosexual, as excuses to purge them from the ranks.

Attacks on Arab, Persian, and "Arab looking" people's being brushed off as insignificant in most parts of the country. (I say most because in Phoenix, AZ they're taking serious the number of crimes that ended in the deaths and assaults of Sikhs by morons who are too stupid to know the difference between an Arab and a Sikh)

I'm sure there are some so called Islamic fundamentalist nutbags out there that have tried to infiltrate the defenses of the United States but the people the government keeps trotting out for the newsmedia are the least likely to have the means or opportunity to commit their alleged crimes. So far every single one of these people that has stood and fought these charges has not even been convicted.

The only one to go on trial so far will most likely end up walking because AG Ashcroft refuses to obey hiw own judges rulings that would give the man a fair hearing as required under the Constitution! This in a case that has all but already proven the man guilty of enough crimes to convict him to life in prison.

Sorry, but there's something fishy going on. I'm all for security and protecting this country, but not at the expense of our country's ideals and certainly not so a small minority can crush the rights of those different than they.

Something in the void...

Interesting.

Rumors keep flying about concerning a "secret project" going on involving the cast and crew of Farscape. A number of rumors seem to be confirming one another over filming of a "secret project" to begin in November in Australia and imply that it is in fact the return of Farscape. While I would love this to happen, they are in the end only rumors. As much as I may want to, I won't believe Farscape is back to finish the story until I hear it from Henson or a significant number of the actors from the show.

Besides Scapers would likely have to wait until Sci Fi Channel looses the right to air Farscape in some two years. I can't really imagine SFC and Henson working together again after SFC's questionable dealings with Henson, Hallmark, advertisers, and the viewers. Then again USA Networks was recently acquired by another company who may decide to clean up the company's act.

Anyway, I'll still wait and hope for the return of Farscape and support the Save Farscape Campaign.

Viva la Farscape!

X-Prize Latest News

Two Teams Set to Compete for Spaceflight
(iWon.com)

Well looks like Burt Rutan and John Carmack are going to be going head to head in the X-Prize competition, a competition designed to promote commercial human spaceflight. While both obviously have an equal chance at winning the X-Prize, I'm betting Rutan will succeed given his past experience in the aerospace field.

Ah! Another week comes to a close. Not much happening today aside from the usual school things. I did stop by shortly to meet up with my AE101 group to see how our project is going. Unfortunately only the guys showed up, neither of the other girls. We'll meet again monday to see how far they got with the latest phase of the design.

The stupidest thing I heard today: some moronic judge saying telemarketers have a right to free speech. What a bunch of bull! The Bill of Rights are for INDIVIDUALS, not corporations and business. Morons! How can a judge not know the difference between a person and an entity?

Thursday, September 25, 2003

Ah, another day comes to a close.

The AE101 exam went okay, though I realized afterwards that I screwed up the questions on vertical and horizontal stabilizers controlling pitch and yaw on an aircraft. A stupid mistake really considering my interest in planes since I was 5 years old. Ah well. I didn't really study for the exam, so what ever grade I get is what I get.

At least the last of my FinAid was finally credited to my school account today. So as soon as the school finishes whatever their Financial Aid people need to do I'll be able to get my own place up in Prescott. I look forward to having more time for my homework and socializing at the school. I missed another of the schools BBQs today, which sucked because nearly everyone I know at the school was going to be there.

Well off to finish up my Dynamics homework.

10:23 AM

Damn! It's thursday already? Where did the week go?

That's a good thing I guess. I have an exam today and some homework to turn in tomorrow and I'm done.

Excellent...except I haven't finished the Dynamics homework due tomorrow. Ack! Ah well.

Hopefully the FinAid money will be disbursed today if the ED kept to it's scheduled disbursement date and ERAU FinAid department also has everything done so I can finally get moved up there permanently.

Wednesday, September 24, 2003

Well, today was pretty good: school going well, homework on schedule, an exam tomorrow and another next monday, even some rain to cool down Phoenix.

I watched the California Governors debate on FOX News Channel. It was rather amusing, what with the moderator seeming to steal the debate half the time with his various quips and cut-ins and the inane sniping of Huffington. I wasn't particularly impressed by Bustamante, Huffington, or Camejo with their overload of liberal and socialist agendas that put California in the position it is in. While I thought Swartzenegger did okay, I think McClintock came off as the most prepared and professional. Too bad McClintock blew it in the end with his arrogant wrap up of why he should be governor. All I can say is I'm glad I don't live in Cali. That state is just too screwed up.

The debate reminded me of a speech my Dynamics professor read to the class this morning about Liberalism and Conservatism. For much of the speech the class was laughing, because it was written very humorously to take out the sting of the truth it contained. We (the students) didn't agree with everything in the speech, but did agree with a number of points. Primary among them was the foolish claims to rights that don't exist. "Rights" such as driving a vehicle, having a job, etc., etc.

You know what, when you think about it, it's true. No one has the "right" to drive a vehicle, or have a job, or health care, or a good education. Those are either privaledges (sp?) or functions society has formed as extensions of our true rights as guaranteed in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Not much happening today aside from the usual classes for the day, AE101 and ES206. My group in AE101 floundered around abit on our wing planform but finally got it done. From the perspective of a professional drafter such as myself, the drawing was sloppy but I can't really complain since I have never used Catia before. As for ES206 we just covered some more information for our upcoming exam. All in all a normal day.

Not much else really to day today.

Genius will not lead to success. Skill will not lead to success. Talent will not lead to success. Succes only comes to those with persistence of vision and determinations to see dreams become reality. Without persistence and determination genius, skill, and talent are wasted in mediocrity and irrelevancy.

Just some thoughts that struck me today on the way to school while thinking about the direction I'm going.

Sunday, September 21, 2003

Sunday. A rest day. Not!

Well actually today hasn't been too busy. Sure I've done a lot of homework and studying for next week's AE101 exam, prepping fir my AE101 group session and a quiz for MA441 tomorrow. I've finally been able to catch up and in some cases get ahead. Thank you! Unfortunately I'm still having trouble in Dynamics.

I finally got to email my friend Em back. Hopefully we can meet up for drinks and talk abut what has happened in our lives since graduating from Phoenix College. She mentioned she is getting a new house, which is great! I know she's a little disappointed in not going to school in California for her Math degree, but she plans to gt her Masters there. That's going to be wierd if I end up at ERAU in Daytona Beach for my Masters while she's in Cali for her Masters degree.

Wierd how the world seems to be getting smaller and smaller when being on opposite ends of the United States really does not seem that far. (OK, the phone bills are outrageous.)

Interesting blogs to read

At least interesting to me...along with some stuff from over at Livejournal.

INTEL DUMP
Mind the Gap
Through the Wormhole
Weekly Farscape Drabbles
Uncharted Tales

Ho hum

Not much happening aside from the usual mundane life: groceries, homework, bills, etc., today. I did get an invite to my 140 day reunion from graduating from Phoenix College. Ha, ha. Sorry, it just seems a little wierd since I only graduated in May with an AA degree and now attending Embry-Riddle. Sure technically I'm now considered a PC alumnus, but it has not even been a year yet. Too bad the "reunion" is the same day as the Prescott Air Fair that I plan on going to.

Friday, September 19, 2003

Ah, friday...

Finally! I'm wiped out today, for some reason. Actually I know the reason: staying up until 2 AM to finish the Dynamics homework I completely forgot about and then waking up at 6 AM to get ready for the drive to school. Even worse, I wasn't ble to figure out a couple of the problems so I'll lose points there.

Today was rapidly going down hill during Dynamics when our furst exams were handed back and I completely bombed it. The only good thing (if you can call it that) was the fact that apparenly a large number of people failed the exam. Surprising the Prof decided to let the class out early. Phyiscs and MA441 turned out well since the homework for the former was put off until next week and the quiz for the latter put off until monday.

I noticed they are advertising the Prescott Air Fair now, which coincides with ERAU's Prescott campus' anniversary. Too bad I haven't found anyone interested in going so far. My brother wants to go because they are going to have a He-111 among the planes to be displayed and flown.

I've also been thinking of joining the school's Golden Eagles Flight Team as part of their ground crew, but I think I'll wait until the next try outs when everything should be more settled for me. I've just got too much going on at the moment to really add such an activity.

Good school day

Well today at ERAU was pretty good. My Fluids homework that was due was pushed back to thursday. Classes were interesting what with lots of new and nifty information on fluid mechanics and simple aerodynamics, along with some funny (and in one case, dangerous) stories I'm sure certain aviators in the U.S. military would rather forget.

I think I'm starting to get my stride again. I don't feel completely lost in my classes anymore. I guess that three month break messed up my study habits a little bit. I still want to get moved up there as soon as possible. That way I'll have even more time for my studies, as well as be able to get a part time job and to participate more in school activities. The only problem I still seem to be having is still with MA441, but I think I'm starting to get better there as well.

Riding with twinkies...

OK, I know a lot of people are really bad drivers but tonight coming back from school had to be one of the worst ever, though happily there were no crashes. It just seems like a lot of people have forgotten basic driving. I mean I saw fifty (yes, FIFTY) near misses from morons who didn't look where they were going, fiddling with their radio/cellphone/hair/makeup at 75 MPH, going 50 in a 65 zone, tried to force their way between two semi-trucks, a truck driver who thinks his UPS semi is a stock car, almost ran over a dozen or so people in miscellaneous crosswalks, and a guy who drove off the side of the road (apparently thinking he was in a truck commercial or something) and got stuck.

I think my brother summed it up best, "These people are twinkies, they have cream filling for brains."

Sunday, September 14, 2003

Man, today's been busy. Laundry, grocery shopping, homework, maintenance, car repair. Sure eats up the time quickly and I still have more homework to be done! Ack! So much for Sunday being a rest day.

(Cue the freaky white chick: "Tomorrow is a rest day")

I don'tmind really. I'd rather be busy with too much to than have nothing to do at all. But then I always find something for myself to do when I have free time. I guess I just don't like feeling as if I'm not accomplishing anything. What was it one of my supervisors said to me? Ah yes, "Slow down, you're too effecient. You'll get yourself fired." Well I didn't get fired, but I did eventually get laid off because they couldn't come up with enough work for me and the rest of the drafters.

It's funny though that people don't like efficiency in the work place. I'm of the opinion that the more efficient you are with your work, the more time you have to do your own thing when you've finished your assignment. Of course, I became quite good at "milking" the projects I was on to appease the anti-efficiency people (does that make them obstructionists?) at my former employer. Of course this extra time became quite useful when I returned to college as ot gave me extra time to do my assignments.

I really should go back and visit sometime, just to see how some of my old co-workers are doing, assuming they are all still there. With the high turnover their continued employment there may not be guaranteed. If nothing else I can chat with the company President and see how he and his family are doing.

School Daze, Homework Haze

Oi! Six hours straight of homework is enough to fry anyone's brain, more so when it's a constant stream of Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and Fourier series. Still, if I can get ahead in my classes a little, it will be worth the effort. Especially for my Advanced Engineering Mathematics class. Oh well, I still have some Physics homework to do, though it's really easy (for me anyway) and I can finish it off in a couple of hours max.

Despite the irritation over the FinAid and some annoying "kids" at school, I'm enjoying ERAU very much. I know I'd enjoy it more once I move up there, since I could actually hang out with some of my fellow classmates and devote more time to the various activities on campus. Oh, well. There's always next semester to make better use of the various clubs and activities.

I finally spent some time in one of the computer labs on campus and I must say that they absolutely rock! They make Phoenix College look decades out of date for software and equipment available for use. It's awesome.

While there I tried out some of the software like MATLAB and Catia. MATLAB seems to be a lot like Maple that I used at PC, but I like it much better. It seems more intuitive to me and much more easy to program. Catia is a CAD program used at the school and in the Aerospace industry. I thought it would be similiar to AutoCAD and Microstation. Boy, was I wrong! I'll have to see if ERAU has a class just on Catia, since I really can't see myself going through EG120 Graphical Communications with my ten years of CAD Drafting experience or maybe I'll shell out some money for a Catia book and try to learn the package on my own. That's how I learned Microstation outside of my usual work and eventually wound up training others on how to use it.

I got recced!

And that sounds funnier than it looks to me. Anyway, what I mean was that I found that one of my Farscape fanfics was recommended for reading over at Uncharted Tales on September 9. It kind of surprised me considering how little time I've had to devote to my Farscape fic, let alone to maintaining my two websites.

Still it was nice of apathocles to rec me.

Thursday, September 11, 2003

Well today was an extremely long day at ERAU even though it was a Thursday which normally means I only have two classes to attend before driving home. Today was made longer by the addition of an ES204 examination at 6 pm. By the time I left an hour later, I think I had done well on the exam. Unfortunately that meant not getting home until 8:30pm to then go work on the ES204, ES206, and PS160 homework all due tomorrow. Oh yeah. What fun. *sarcasm*

Well hopefully this weekend I'll finally be able to get a jump on all my classes and not feel like I'm spinning my wheels half the time. I'm doing good in Physics but that's because I've already covered this stuff before. It's mainly the ES204 and MA441 that seems to be killing me so far, though I think I'm finally catching on with the math.

*Yawn.*

I'm off to sleep.

No help here...

Okay. I know my Mom means well, but her suggestion that I should listen to her relaxation tapes to end my recent respiratory problems was down right stupid! The problem isn't me being stressed out. It's not in my head. My guess is that I've developed an allergy to something either here in Phoenix or up in Prescott but I won't know for sure until I'm able to get a regular doctor to look into what ever the problem is. It just annoys me that a borderline hypochondriac (sp?) automatically assumes it's all in my head or a result of stress when I haven't even had a chance to get to a doctor to be sure!

I may hate doctors but I hate people who assume they know what best when they are in fact clueless!

Monday, September 08, 2003

Ahh, long day

Well for some reason I'm feel wiped out today. I'm not really sure since it was a standard day at ERAU. Nothing new really for Dynaimics, Physics or Math, although I found out that our Dynamics test is Thursday at 6:00pm. Yuck. Ah well, it does give me an extra half-hour review time before the exam after my Fluid Mechanics class. Unfortunately that means I won't get out of there until 7:00 pm at the earliest since most exams take 50-60 minutes to complete.

My brother is now thinking of going to Yavapai College in Prescott. I hope he doesn't think he's going to stay with me while he's going to school. I love my brother, but I want to get out solely on my own now. Besides he's something of a slob, always expecting me to clean up after him, and I refuse to do that when it's my apartment. I don't begrudge him wanting to get an education, but what's wrong with getting it in Phoenix where he lives. Why follow me to Prescott?

I'd really like to go to sleep, but I've got Fluids problems to solve for tomorrow's class. Luckily I don't have to be at class until 1:30 pm so I can sleep in a little late tomorrow. And with that I end today's entry.

#farscape Cancellations Anniversary Chat

Well, here I am in the #farscape channel at SFC's servers for the anniversary of the cancellation of Farscape. Lot's of old faces have cropped up and a number of new faces. Some trolls, some Farscape elitist assholes (y'all know who you are) treating newer fans like shit, favorite shows, characters, lines, the sheep, the insults, the foul language of boorish Scapers. Yep, that's #farscape chat all right. Love 'em, hate 'em, they're Scapers one and all.

Actually I can honestly say I was surprised at the turn out. The channel seems to be holding steady at 150 people at any time, though we did reach 200 at one point over the last couple of hours. Nice to see so many Scapers from the old days. Even better to see the new folks coming in. Hopefully they won't be put off by the resident morons (the few there are) and their derisive attitudes and demeaning words. That aside, its obvious a large number of Scapers are still out there and still pulling for Farscape's return. I hope we get just that.

Viva la Farscape!

Lazy Saturday

Well today's been a somewhat lazy day. I guess that makes it a rest day except that all I did was do my Dynamics and Physics homework and watch football. The weather got a little wonky for a bit what with a tornado warning followed up with a severe thunderstorm warning, somewhat unusual for this time of year in Phoenix, AZ.

Well I finally heard something on my FinAid. Turns out they're not disbursing it until September 25. So much for having it this week the people in the ERAU FinAid office kept claiming, Just confirms that they are, indeed, morons when it comes to what happening with the school's financial aid. Now this leaves me driving for the rest of September instead of simply getting a place up there. This further screws up my plans to get a part time job in Prescott or Prescott Valley as well.

Oh well, what can you do? At least I finally know what's going in that area.

'Firefly' to become movie

Well, it looks like Universal has bought the rights to "Firefly" and intend to make a theatrical release of the short lived series. I didn't like "Firefly" as the suits at FOX wanted it to be. It was too hoaky with their ridiculous over use of western themes and fake cowboy drawls. I couldn't help but think: "so man goes into space and becomes a bunch of red neck hicks".

Now Joss Whedon's original pilot, when it finally aired, was far superior and mature than the amateurish series that aired under FOX's "supervision". The western theme was there, but wasn't constantly thrown in your face and used to beat the viewers over the head.

So, I guess we'll wait and see what happens.

ERAU Day 9

Another day at ERAU has come and gone, thus ending week two. Not much really happened today. I might have an exam next thursday for Dynamics. It depends on how the second section votes. Yep, you read the correctly. My Dynamics prof is putting whether we have this exam to a vote since it's not part of his usual course.

As for my MA441 exam today, I pretty much bombed it. Fortunately quizes are not too important for the course, exams are. I should be okay after some more reviewing and working on some extra problems. We're getting ready to head into vectors during the next few weeks.

ERAU Day 8

Well nothing especially interesting occured at ERAU aside from this evenings BBQ, which I didn't go to. It sounded like it was fun despite the storm that rolled in during the late afternoon, early evening at Prescott campus. About the only wierd thing was one of the guys in my ES206 class acting like I has the bubonic plague or something. Sure, I know there are some guys who can't stand the idea of a woman being an engineer but this guy acted like I had become his personal nemesis or something. Wierd. I hope the poor boy catches a clue that the day of the good old boys club in the engineering field is coming to end.

Earlier today I was starting to think I was a complete Math idiot since I seem to have so much trouble in MA441, so much so that I was actually considering dropping the course for this semester. Now, after doing the homework, I don't feel like a complete idiot. I guess I'm just rusty with my math, especially differential equations and Laplace transforms. I still don't feel all that confident for tomorrow's quiz but I'll just keep my reviews of Diff Eq and Calc going over the next few weeks to see how things go. Afterall, I do have until October to decide if I should drop the class or not. I really don't want to drop it, but I don't want a bad grade screwing up my GPA either.

Wednesday, September 03, 2003

ERAU Day 7

Day 7 at ERAU already? Seems shorter. Today went pretty well. Dynamics and Physics were slightly boring, mainly because we're still rehashing stuff I already know. MA441 left me feeling like an idiot, but I figure it's because we're covering new stuff I've never seen before based on Differential Equations. Hopefully I'll get it all locked down by the time we have our quiz friday. It still sucks that the Math Department has decided that calculators are not allowed to be used any more so I guess I'll have to go back to the brain only like I did in high school.

On a side note, I really need to get down to doing the homework for my classes instead of waiting to the last minute to do them. I think it's because I'm bored and I'm losing 3-4 hours of study time each day spent on driving. Hopefully when I finally get my housing aid I can end the long drives. They're getting annoying. Speaking of which, FinAid still has not come through yet for me and a number of other people if the grumbling I heard from others today is any indication. I guess I just have to be patient. Annoyed, but patient.

ERAU Day 6

Well Day 6 at ERAU went well. Then again, it's pretty much my easy day with only AE101 Intro to Aero Engineering and ES206 Fluid Mechanics. In AE101 we were assigned to our project groups so we can start working on our aircraft design. In Fluids we went over some of our homework due in a week as well as started Chapter 2. I blew the pop quiz forgetting something simple as "What is a continuum?" and "What is specific gravity?" Grr. So sinple too.

Anywho, I feel a bit better today, so may be I'm getting over whatever is wrong with me. I called to setup a doctor's appointment but I never heard back from them. Guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Monday, September 01, 2003

Labor Day

Well today is Labor Day 2003. What happened? Not much. Pretty much just like yesterday. I feel like I'm getting a little better every day for what ever is wrong with me. Tomorrow I get to make an appointment for a followup visit to the doctors. (Oh yeah. In case you did not know, I despise doctors most of the time.)

Anyway, I was trying to do my MA441 homework and came to the realization that my Diff Eq teacher must have been a moron. How else can you explain getting a B in Diff Eq but I can't do such simple problems using LaPlace Transforms and Inverse LaPlace Transforms, especially when I usually get A's in math classes? (Only got a B in Trig and Diff Eq). So now I have to go back and review Diff Eq on my own while taking MA441 as well. It sucks. Oh, well. I'll deal with it. May be see if I can't find any other sites or books to help out.

Unrealized Realities: Farscape Cancellation

Wow! Has it really almost been a year since the cancellation of Farscape was announced in chat? Yep, come September 6, the anniversary of Farscape's cancellation come about. An event that has spawned something quite impressive when I look at it.

A year ago this time, I (like many other Scapers) were happily whiling away our time online with Farscape discussions, fanfic and other fannish things until the announcement came. Nearly overnight the Save Farscape campaign was launched and grew to include protests at SciFi Headquarters, advertisements, radio spots, and even a television commercial, garnering mention in several main stream media sources. Despite what some thought the campaign did not sputter and die after a few months. It's still going and quite strong at that.

And what a campaugn it has been. Crackers Don't Matter, A Fifth for Farscape, Aeryn Go-braless, the Guerilla Radio Network, and numerous other campaigns supporting the return of Farscape's fifth season. Even a Farscape campaign supporting the morale of troops by providing Farscape DVDs and books for entertainment.

It's mind boggling and humbling (some would say crazy) to see so many people devoted to such a fine show. I think this is because Farscape appeals to so many people or many different levels. It's quality televison in a time of mindless and repetative sitcoms, boring "un" reality tv, and biased, sensationalized "news" media. Is it any wonder with its excellent writing, acting, direction, and fx that this show appeals to so many who want a short time away from reality to enjoy a well done story?

Viva la Farscape!
