Man, today's been busy. Laundry, grocery shopping, homework, maintenance, car repair. Sure eats up the time quickly and I still have more homework to be done! Ack! So much for Sunday being a rest day.
(Cue the freaky white chick: "Tomorrow is a rest day")
I don'tmind really. I'd rather be busy with too much to than have nothing to do at all. But then I always find something for myself to do when I have free time. I guess I just don't like feeling as if I'm not accomplishing anything. What was it one of my supervisors said to me? Ah yes, "Slow down, you're too effecient. You'll get yourself fired." Well I didn't get fired, but I did eventually get laid off because they couldn't come up with enough work for me and the rest of the drafters.
It's funny though that people don't like efficiency in the work place. I'm of the opinion that the more efficient you are with your work, the more time you have to do your own thing when you've finished your assignment. Of course, I became quite good at "milking" the projects I was on to appease the anti-efficiency people (does that make them obstructionists?) at my former employer. Of course this extra time became quite useful when I returned to college as ot gave me extra time to do my assignments.
I really should go back and visit sometime, just to see how some of my old co-workers are doing, assuming they are all still there. With the high turnover their continued employment there may not be guaranteed. If nothing else I can chat with the company President and see how he and his family are doing.
